Monday Motivation #12

Ever noticed how you're able to  process things better while you are running or walking?

That's because exercise, lights up your brain. Literally. The substances used to treat depression chemically are released naturally while we are puffing for our breath. So if you're depressed, anxious, struggling with addictive behaviour, the best thing you can do is get moving.

John Ratey, in his book, Spark - the revolutionary new since of exercise and the brain says this:"In addition to feeling good when you're exercise, you feel good about yourself, and that has a positive effect that can be traced to a particular chemical or area in the brain. If you've been feeling down and you start to exercise and feel better, the sense that you're going to be OK... shifts your whole attitude." (P118)
This morning, let's be conscious of all that. I'm going to actually let go of some things, and stop worrying about them.

"And the music?" I hear you ask. You've done this before.

Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger were fabulous together, they wrote such good music. Pity it didn't last. (The good news is that maybe it's not completely over.) They wrote and sang today's motivation to let it all go. Exhale. All the nonsense. All the stuff that is cluttering up your head. It's time to say goodbye.

I'm breaking free from these memories,
Gotta let it go, just let it go
I've said goodbye
Set it all on fire
Gotta let it go, just let it go
I let it go and now I know
A brand new life is down this road
And when it's right, you always know
So this time I won't let go

Happy running.
