The Muse by Jessie Burton
I love this excerpt. It sets the scene for the most enjoyable part of Jessie Burton's books - the beautiful writing.
Here, she's run through the rain after Marjorie Quick, her boss, who dashed off, clearly upset. I love these names too - Odelle, Marjorie, who is often just called Quick.
Here's the cover (links through to my review) - which is my favourite cover of the year so far - there are no words for how much I love this cover. What's your favourite cover of the books you've read this year?

I've never read anything by Jessie Burton before, but I have heard of her other book, The Miniaturist. The Muse sounds good too.
This book sounds like it could be very interesting. It appears that the attachment between the two characters in the 56 is pretty solid.
I am reading Call Me Luciano by Lauren Mariah. It is a great read geared towards young adults but I enjoyed it, too. Hope you have a great weekend.
I think that those snippets have sold me!
Check out my Friday 56 (With Book Beginnings).
The writing is wonderful. Sounds like one you won't want to put down:)

A new to me author, but this one does sound tempting. Thanks for sharing...and for visiting my blog.
I'll be looking out for your review on this one. I had mixed feelings on The Miniaturist. Happy weekend Bev! Here's my Friday Meets: http://marelithalkink.blogspot.co.za/2016/09/friday-meets-09-september-2011.html
I agree with you about the cover. Gorgeous! The opening makes me want to delve further into the story. Sounds like an entertaining book.

This looks intriguing and I love the cover. Happy Reading!
Sounds interesting. This week I am spotlighting Project Elfhome by Wen Spencer - a linked short story collection. Happy reading!
I've wanted to check out The Miniaturist. I've heard good things. This one has such a lovely cover and I like the writing. Happy Friday!
Sounds like a beautifully written book. Happy weekend!
What a lovely cover, for the cover alone I would consider reading it. That is a hard choice trying to figure out what book has the loveliest cover for the year. Just too hard for me to choose one.
