Friday Books - The Secrets She Keeps

Happy Friday everyone.

Friday fun is finding books on BookBeginnings, hosted by Rose City Readerand The Friday 56 - hosted by Freda’s Voice

Both host sites for Friday link ups, where we discover more books, and make friends. We get to share excerpts from a current book - the beginning and - you guessed it - page 56.

This week, I'm featuring

The Secrets She Keeps by Michael Robotham

Here's My Beginning..

Anyone agree with me that this is reminiscent of Girl on The Train? Sounds like Agatha (the heading of the chapter) is kind of watching Meg, In a creepy way. I haven't got more than a few pages in, so I could be completely wrong, but that's the feeling I get from those lines.

My Page 56

You can be thankful I've spared you the next line - it got more descriptive, and ended with a "You're  disgusting." I didn't want to offend any visitors - besides I think that's bad enough.

What are you reading this weekend?

I haven't read Girl on the Train so I wouldn't be able to make the connection between the two books. However, that being said, the beginning is kind of eerie. I Hope you enjoy this one!

Yes, the book did have that vibe. A watcher is always creepy. LOL

I loved this book! Thanks for sharing, and for visiting my blog. Enjoy!

I had the same thought reading the opening. It definitely has a Girl on the Train vibe. I had to laugh at the second excerpt you shared. I will have to keep this book on my radar. Thank you for sharing! have a great weekend!

Your book beginning does make me think of the Girl on the Train. Something is NOT so perfect, me thinks. My Friday Quotes

Interesting but I agree that the 56 is TMI. This week I am featuring Her Dark Half by Paige Tyler. Happy reading!

Probably not one I'd pick up, but I hope you'll enjoy it.

There's something so creepy about the beginning! I'm not exactly sure what it is but things are definitely not going to go well!

Hi Bev,

This is definitely one for me as I always enjoy Michael's writing.

Goodreads describes this book as "In the bestselling tradition of The Girl on the Train and In a Dark, Dark Wood", neither of which I have read, but which however, does bear out your own thoughts.

I love those opening lines, which are enough on their own to have me glued to the book and eager to keep turning the pages.

Enjoy and 'Happy Reading' :)
