Friday Books - The President's Keepers

Good Morning fellow bloggers and readers. It's Friday, so it's time to hook up with other book admirers and share excerpts from the books around us. We'll start with the 56 today.

At Freda's Voice, you'll find the Friday56, where the excerpt comes from page 56 or 56% in your Kindle.

The book I'm reading has taken our country by storm.

The President's Keepers - an exposé of all the corruption and deception in our government and ruling party's highest ranks. It's scary.

It was nearly banned, and now you cannot get a copy for love or money until the reprint runs.

Here's the beginning.

At Rose City Reader, you'll find Book Beginnings, where you share the first line, and  a few thoughts about the book.

My beginning is from the introduction to the book, which starts with the author's story...

Yip - this is an unsurprising occurrence - once in a government department about to press charges against Jacob Zuma, all the computers were stolen overnight. This story, thankfully had a happy ending, and the book saw the light of day, but at a recent book launch there was a very strange power outage - affecting only the mall where the launch took place. Dun dun dun....

I can't wait for work to be done today, so I can get reading. Oh, and then I'll read all your lovely blogs with your books too. Tell me what you're reading in the comments below.

And have a great weekend.

  1. I can see why this book would be controversial. I love books like this, but read so few of them. Reality is often scarier than fiction--at least to me. I look forward to reading your final thoughts on this one, Bev.

  10. If I read this, I'd definitely have to read the print copy. My frustration and anger would get the better of me and I'd be throwing it. LOL Just kidding but this stuff gets to me.
