It's time to start the salad recipes. Summer is nearly here, and we need the flavours and energy to enjoy it fully. What better way than a healthy salad on the patio? This one's dead easy and apart from the sugar, which you can halve, or replace with xylitol, is quite healthy.
2 T sesame seeds
1 T poppy seeds
Half cup white sugar/third cup xylitol
Half cup olive oil
Quarter cup apple cider vinegar
Quarter tsp paprika
Splash of Worcestershire sauce
1 T minced onion
1 packet baby spinach (300g)
1 punnet strawberries
Quarter cup slivered almonds
Combine the strawberries, almonds and spinach in a large bowl. Whisk together the other ingredients and chill for one hour. Pour dressing over salad and chill before serving.
Enjoy.
